Despite Collecting Nine Hits, The Haskell Indians Fall To Hamlin
The Haskell Indians out-hit Hamlin nine to seven, but it wasn’t enough in an 11-5 loss on Tuesday. The Indians scored three runs in the sixth inning and scored on a walk by Kyler Hoover, a walk by Alec Roewe, and a groundout by Ezell Woods.
Stevenson earned the win for Hamlin. He threw four innings, surrendering two runs, four hits, and striking out four. Rivera threw two innings, as two relievers helped Hamlin finish off the victory. Hoover took the loss for Haskell Indians Varsity. He tossed four and a third innings, allowing nine runs, five hits, and striking out four.
The Indians collected nine hits. Kellen Parks and Rocky Haggard each collected multiple hits for Haskell. Woods and Hoover each drove in one run and the Indians stole 11 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Parks led the way with two.
Hamlin had seven hits in the game. Cartwright and Kiser each collected multiple hits for Hamlin. Cartwright went 3-for-4 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in. Gann led Hamlin with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 11 stolen bases.
